If it wasn't so true, it would be funny.

Notice how the cartoonist is afraid to draw a characture of a black man. That's how ridiculous this PC bullshit has become.

The cartoon is well done, it simply needs the person throwing the money to suggest Obama. Nothing wrong with that, but the cartoonists are afraid. Welcome to liberal America!

Obama is 1/2 African American and 1/2 White.

Maybe the cartoonist just decided to draw the white half!!!

He is slightly darker than the others ( I assume white people ) in the cartoon. So, it is all a matter of artistic interpretation.

Yeah, right. The founding fathers were barely able to muster an army together. This overbearing patriotic BS from the right leaves out facts when it doesn't suit their purposes.

1/6th black is enough for some.
Where do you draw the line Skybill?

And I suppose you would have been just fine with a cartoon depicting Bush giving the contents of the man's wallet to:

Exxon/Mobile
Blackwater
{insert name of CEO}
Saudi Arabia
China
etc.
etc.

These threads are getting tired and repetitious.

Deane and Vitalogy are lowering themselves to simplistic namecalling.

I thought we were all going to try and be better.

"My cannon returns fire when fired upon."

This is complicated Vitalogy, but look who made post #3 in this thread. Then read posts #1 and #2. Do you see your name mentioned in either, or anything remotely referring to you or anything you've ever posted?

Now read post #3 again. I believe you'll find that the first shot is right there. As I said, this is complicated, but if you'll go slow, I think you can figure it out.

Obama is black. You may never have noticed that. But the point is, the cartoonists are afraid to make him look black, or emphasize his features for fear of a backlash. That's what is ridiculous. Why can't he be treated just like anyone else in cartoon work. Why would it be OK to draw Bush, Reagan, Polosi, Reid or Carter any way you want to, but not Obama? That's now where we are in this country and I say it's ridiculous.

You take this one cartoonist and the way he draws President Obama AND you generalize by saying all cartoonist do the same thing?

You got one thing correct - Obama is black. But you are not convincing that he would get a backlash for portraying him as black. Look as your own prejudices, Deane.

"You take this one cartoonist and the way he draws President Obama AND you generalize by saying all cartoonist do the same thing? "

Actually, it goes a little bit deeper than that. I don't remember the details, but one cartoonist got fired from a liberal newspaper for his portrayal of Obama. Later, I read comments made by other cartoonists that they were afraid to do anything with Obama that they would normally do with presidents.

I know liberals want to hide from reality, and I know that liberals want to trot out the race card the minute they discover they have no ammunition, but there's a bit of reality to this.

Notice even on this forum if one says anything negative about Obama, the race thing starts getting shouted. Isn't that a pitiful double standard? Is that really the world you want to live in?

You may notice, I'm not afraid of this liberal racism crap. I'll call it out for what it is.

Deane, you started this out by criticizing liberals and "PC America" for not drawing Obama as he looks. To be honest, the cartoon looks just like him. What would make you happy? Bigger lips? Bigger hair? How about long arms dragging on the floor? Maybe an ape in a suit?

No one trots out the race card until you post a comment that shows your inherent racist attitudes towards blacks. I know you can't help it. You're an old, white male living in middle America and you can't help it. You grew up in a world where the whites were better than the rest. That world no longer exists as much as you want it to. Attitudes have changed, too bad you're incapable of adapting.

I noticed that it was you, Deane Johnson, that brought up President Obama race. You then proceeded to slam the cartoonist and all cartoonists for being "PC" without much to go on.
