No April fools joke here, all charges against former Alaska Senator Ted Stevens have been dropped due to "misconduct by government prosecuters". He barely lost his re-election even after the charges, I wonder if the outcome might be different now.

Good! No love for former Senator Stevens, but hopefully this will send a message to crooked prodecuters to clean up their act. Let's see if Don Siegelman gets similar treatment. BTW, what are the possibilities that these government prosecuters that were Bush appointeees that deliberately bothched the case?

That's what happens when you let a graduate of Pat Robertson's Mickey Mouse Law School (no offense to Mickey Mouse) do all the hiring of federal prosecutors at the Bush US Justice Department. Uber evangelical legal dim bulb Monica Goodling. It's sad when the quality of your work product is measured in tandem with the number of Justice Department Bible studies you attend.
