This from yesterday's All Access:

--------------------Man Buys KXNT Ads To Find Job--------------------

A man buying time on CBS RADIO Talk KXNT-A/LAS VEGAS to find a job is drawing attention to himself and the radio station.

NBC affiliate KVBC-TV/LAS VEGAS reports that DAVE WILSON, whose career has been spent in the building materials business, is buying "situations wanted" ads on KXNT, telling the TV station's HETTY CHANG, "In order to stand out from everyone else that's looking for a job, I need to do something different. I'm selling my ability to hopefully get a job." WILSON paid a "couple hundred dollars" for the ads, and said, "I'm pretty confident I'm going to get some phone calls, and we'll see how it goes. But I feel pretty confident."

KXNT PD JACK LANDRETH said, "When I got the call from DAVE a few weeks ago, I go, 'Why didn't anyone think of that?' DAVE is the first."

Now right there is a good reason to buy KORC! Instead of running ads, the new owner can advertise himself. When he gets a call, he can turn the station over to Otto, go out and earn some real dollars for a while, then come back and play radio until the cash runs out. Repeat. :-)

What do you think of that idea Roger?

...only would work if the new owner had a marketable skill like plumbing, carpentry, tropical fish cleaning, horse shoe forging, etc...

There, I took the bait!

It's Waldport, remember? You only need to know how to mow lawns, put garage doors back on track and pick up blown-off shingles. With these skills you can make a decent living in Waldport.

I'm an excellent shingle picker upper, but I've never done it for money. I prefer to keep my amature status.
