GM to UAW: Let's renegotiate your contract THEN you find out about this: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=102316176 I especially like the last two lines. They really show just how out of touch the executives are.

Wow. I am no fan of the UAW, I feel that they have lost touch largely with modern workplace and how to represent their workers in line with the needs of the company. That said, this is insane. 8,000 upper-crust GM suits get free rides AND free gas, while wanting $30 BILLION in taxpayer loans, and they won't give that up ... yet GM is shutting factories and laying off tens of thousands of its blue-collar workers? In a country that has seen the blue-collar worker all but disappear? I am quickly reaching the point of throwing my hands in the air and saying, "Fuck it. Let the bastards go bankrupt."

I am quickly reaching the point of throwing my hands in the air and saying, "Fuck it. Let the bastards go bankrupt." I've said that from the beginning. Everyone says 'oh, if they do that, then hundreds of thousands will be out of work!' Well, those hundreds of thousands will still have to eat, need shelter and clothing. I'm guessing the economy would rebound simply off of that.
