Under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, they've knighted liberals. Ted Kennedy being a perfect example. It's clear though the monarchy seems to have a love affair with conservatives. They've already said that the funeral for Baroness Margaret Thatcher will be a state affair. Just like the one accorded Winston Churchill in 1965.
