$900 million to help repair Gaza due to Israel's invasion?

It pales in comparison to the billions we've poured into Iraq.

It hasn't made us safer. Al-Q is alive and well in the hills of Afghanistan. Considering what we've spent destroying Iraq and then rebuilding it (plus losing millions of dollars to unknown contractors), this is chump change.

Iraq has nothing to do with the $900 million it will cost us to repair damages Israel did to Gaza. Why shouldn't we send the bill to Israel? Why do US taxpayers get to pay for it? I say cut aid to Israel by that amount so we break even. It seems ridiculous that the US stands by and let's Isreal run roughshed over Gaza and then offer to repair the damage they caused.

I have to agree. Why is our responsibility to rebuild Gaza?

This is the kind of stuff we need to stop. Unless it can be justified as "humanitarian" aid, i.e. medical supplies and food, then we don't send them money.

One way terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezzbullah has been able to ingratiate themselves with the local populations is by getting involved with humanitarian aid. Somehow, spending a billion dollars there to show the local muslims that America loves them, too (not just Israel) might not be such a bad PR move. Expensive PR move, though...

We give aid to Israel so God will favor us in the 2nd coming. We'll give money to Gaza just to hedge our bet.
