-------------------Dial Global Adds Thom Hartmann-------------------

THOM HARTMANN's syndicated radio show is moving to DIAL GLOBAL starting MARCH 1st. The show is presently syndicated through AIR AMERICA MEDIA; DIAL GLOBAL and WYD MEDIA MENAGEMENT announced the change TODAY (2/2). DIAL GLOBAL will provide both advertising sales and affiliate representation for show, which airs noon-3p ET weekdays.

"With the addition of THOM HARTMANN, DIAL GLOBAL solidifies its position as the premiere content provider of the very best Progressive Talk Radio. DIAL GLOBAL now offers 12 hours of proven, winning progressive talk shows. We’re delighted to work with THOM and WYD," said DIAL GLOBAL SVP/GM News/Talk AMY BOLTON.

"We are excited to grow the program with the folks at DIAL GLOBAL. We are especially excited to have AMY BOLTON and her expanded affiliate sales team work with our show to increase affiliates around the nation," said HARTMANN.

"It is great to be reunited with so many friends and former colleagues who are at DIAL GLOBAL. In a tough economic environment we are pleased to be working with such an aggressive team on all aspects of our business," said WYD's RON HARTENBAUM.

Thom Hartmann can be heard locally on AM 620 KPOJ, weekday mornings 6 to 9am .

Dial Global is the same company that syndicates Ed Schultz, Stephanie Miller, and Bill Press - three other "Progressive Talk" shows already carried on KPOJ.

And with that, you can stop calling KPOJ the "Air America" station, because the Thom Hartmann show is the last Air America show on its schedule between 6a - 6p. Only the Rachael Maddow show is left at 6p-8p, and an hour of that is really an MSNBC re-broadcast from her previous day's TV show. So, only an hour a day of real Air America content. It would be more accurate to call KPOJ "The Dial Global Station" or "The Nova-M Station" hereafter.

Air America survived its bankruptcy but has been dying a slow death ever since then, losing one show at at time.

Air America served it's purpose and now the leaders of Progressive talk have branched out on their own to do what LimBLAH and Insannity have done.... Well... minus the bullcrap.... :-)

Better a good broadcasting company running a network than some folks who don't know the biz....

Ah, let me amend my statement above: Apparently Air America has ended the Rachel Maddow show (already down to 1 hr with her new TV show) and expanded Ron Reagan's show. KPOJ will broadcast Ron Reagan 6-8p M-F. So, KPOJ still will carry 2 hrs/day of AAR programming...for now.

Maddow was one of the last good shows AAR still had, but no doubt she's been a huge success at MSNBC and probably wanted to move on. She was the last of the original on-air people from AAR's March 2004 launch who was still on the air. I'll miss her on the radio but am glad I can still watch her MSNBC show on the web (KPOJ will still broadcast audio of her MSNBC show at 2am, when so many people are tuned in).

That's a bummer.

I like Ron, but Rachel was for a fun late drive home.

Good for her for moving up. She's going to be great on TV.

Hmm - I guess KPOJ had it wrong:

http://www.620kpoj.com/pages/program/index.php

Rachel Maddow remains with Air America but in a reduced capacity. Audio from Rachel's MSNBC television program will be provided by Air America and will be heard on KPOJ weekday mornings at 2am. Unfortunately, Rachel will no longer do a radio-only program.

Actually it demonstrates the vialbility of progressive talk radio in that others now want to get into the market. AAR deserves a tip of the topper,as Dream Weaver used to say,but the situation has matured

"I think Don Rickles son in law runs that company"
So that means it must really be a big Joke??

Ooops. Sorry, I just had to get that in. Don't know what came over me. I'll go back to reality, now.
And it looks like ol' 62kgw still doesn't get it. I don't think there is any hope for that dude.
I know that "hope" is one of the buzzwords for the new administration but somehow, 62kgw, I wouldn't hold onto "hope" for either 620 or 910 to go back to what they once were. Chances for that are less than slim-to-none. Your life may become much nicer when you grasp that concept.
