Motown at 50 is stellar ongoing series of videos from the Detroit Free Press. These reports make a fantastic companion to the award winning documentary, Standing in the Shadows of Motown. Over the years, the music of Motown has played an important role. The music has succeeded time and again in bringing us all together as a nation. Half a century after the "Sound of Young America" debuted, an African-American sits in the Oval Office. Obama finished every speech on the stump with the number one single from Stevie Wonder, Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours. That classic song was released just days before I was born. Now, Motown is no longer just the sound of young America, it is America.

Happy Birthday Motown!
