PETA wants to change the word "fish" to the word "sea kitten"... in the hopes that people will feel worse about ordering "Sea Kittens and Chips" or "Grilled Chilean Sea Kittens with Mango Salsa" or feeding "Sea Kitten Sticks" to their kids.

Based on the CNN news story, they are serious. To which I can only say, you have got to be kidding.

What if this backfires? I could picture some people getting the idea, "hey, if sea kittens are so tasty and nourishing, then maybe we should consider eating the terrestrial ones, as well!" Nobody that I know of has been put off from eating hush puppies by the name.

Darwinism is a beautiful thing. Feed cows to cows and they eventually develop diseases like Mad Cow. Many scientists and sociologists surmise that the same process in why mankind learned to stigmatize cannibalism. And why most species won't eat their own kind.

But its just local habit that determines which humans eat which animals - including the aforementioned monkeys, cats and dog. Often it is determined by which animals have been widely domesticated and/or are abundant.

And Sky, since Harry gave me unlimited usage of his line, I'll grant unlimited usage to you in exchange for your "God make 'em out of meat." line!
