From All Access: KBLV Flips To Adult Top 40 As KKSN Under PD John Cook Who Also Programs WDAF KKSN Is On ENTERCOM AAA KBLV (99.7 THE BOULEVARD)/KANSAS CITY has flipped to an Adult Top 40 stance as KKSN (99.7 KISS-FM), under new PD JOHN COOK, who will also program Country WDAF (106.5 THE WOLF), replacing MICHAEL CRUISE. COOK, who most recently was PD at CBS Rocker WYSP/PHILADELPHIA, replaces GREG BERGEN. The new KKSN lineup has KIDD KRADDICK in mornings (syndicated) and RYAN SEACREST in afternoons (syndicated), with ENTERCOM syndicated host KIM IVERSON doing nights. Middays are currently jockless. ENTERCOM VP/Market Manager DAVID ALPERT commented about JOHN COOK, saying, "We are thrilled to add this exceptional talent line up and the Hot AC format to our already strong compilation of brands in our KANSAS CITY cluster. In searching for a program director we wanted someone who was competitive and innovative with a proven track record. We have found the perfect candidate." COOK added, "I'm delighted to be joining the ENTERCOM/KANSAS CITY team and look forward to building two winning products. I want to thank ENTERCOM management for giving me this opportunity in KANSAS CITY."

Salem's 1390 is still KKSN, since Kansas City's 99.7 is KKSN-FM.

Bring back the KSLM calls for 1390. Also, with Entercom getting back 910, will they have to let a station go due to ownership rules?

>>with Entercom getting back 910 they've always owned it, just LMA'd it for a few years to Salem Communications. The KSLM calls are now a TV station just north of Dallas.

Ok Yahmit and Broadway, let's us buy 1390 and bring back a great music station to Salem and Keizer? My people will get with your people. I've got Craig Walker all signed up to do mornings. Now, I am working on Bill Schonley to do sports reports! Whoo hoo!

>>a great music station What would work in Salem? Nostalgia? 1955-75 Oldies? Southern Gospel? More Spanish? Don't think anything could work on AM. Even FM would be a struggle. Too many stations/voices/gagets getting people's attention now days and the pie just gets smaller.

I have the secret weapon that NO ONE will do. Sorry can't divulge my format unless one is a serious investor. Bwahhhhahhahaha.....I will rule the world with this format. Bring life to a lifeless radio desert. And it is GUARANTEED to be successful but only in the Salem-Keizer market.

I'd like to work for Dodger's station under a pseudonym. That way when he finds out who I really am, he'll have to choose between keeping me or taking an 8 point 12+ rating drop. Heh.

Well Skeppy, since Salem-Keizer isn't an Arbitron market, we'll never know will we? I do have a board op opening though if you'd like to LEARN radio?

I thought you had big ideas and were going to try to get a slice of the Portland market . . . at least the south end. Craig, Shonley and me will help you get that.
