Here in Salem, KYKN just started caling themselves the "All-New KYKN", but everything appears to be the same as it was after they moved Glenn Beck to the afternoon drive.

The statement means nothing. Look at 99.5. How many years have they been saying the "New, 99.5, the Wolf"? And you cannot detect a second of difference since they started saying that years ago.

Yep those crazy guys at kykn are copying the wolf. By the way, how long can you be "new"? I really like the new imaging on kykn. That guy is really "big market" sounding. Wonder who it is?

When Deane & Kathie Johnson bought KCYX in 1980 they wanted the station to be looked upon as being rejuvenated from the old image. That's when we became "The New KCYX" for years. And listeners picked up on this. I recall hearing a listener in line at a store talking to a neighbor about McMinnville's new radio station! This ploy really works but I should also mention the Johnson's really did upgrade the station later, completely gutting out "Studio A" and rebuilding it. It was a show piece when it was finished.

Well, Dan could make the board "newer" by changing the olive drab background shades to some other color.

I believe he did upgrade from an earlier color scheme that was even more drab! Count your blessings and hope Dan doesn't want to go retro!
