This from today's Oregonian obits, page B3: The Rev. Charles H. Williams A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, in Life Change Christian Center Church in Portland for the Rev. Charles H. Williams, who died Dec. 24, 2008, at age 85. Charles H. Williams was born Dec. 7, 1923, in Logans Ferry, Pa. He graduated from Nyack Missionary Training Institute in New York and was an evangelist for 58 years. He moved in 1968 to Portland, where he sponsored three citywide crusades, home Bible seminars and evangelism seminars; he preached "The Redemption Hour" on KPDQ for 33 years. He was president of the National Negro Evangelical Association and the National Association of Evangelicals of Oregon. In the mid-'40s, he married Rosalia Oliver; she died in 1982. He married Dorothy Nottage in 1985. Survivors include his wife; daughter, Lois Walls; sons, Charles Jr., Smith and John; and 10 grandchildren. Arraignments by Terry Family.
