A Special Thanks to Gurina Psait for the heads up on this sad story. Phil E-Mailed me information on the KEDO history about a year ago. He loved the nostalgia of radio's past. |

Phil was a good guy. I never knew Les, but I listened to him occasionally beginning with his KGON days. When we were youngsters, we all laughed that one day the adreneline, junk food, cigarettes, booze, and God knows what else was going to put us in an early grave. Some of us it did, others of us, managed to break the reapers grasp for a few more days or years. But, anyway you look at it, Radio, if done correctly can kill you. |

Or radio, OVERdone correctly, incorrectly, or otherwise, can kill you. I recently left a situation where I was trying to help a friend right a sinking ship(An AM stand alone news/talker). Two months of 12 to 16 hour days, six and sometimes seven days a week was affecting my health and threatened to sink my marriage. |

Just heard about Phil...very sad... I got to meet him during the KEDO reunion weekend... and found out we had met in Tri Cities when he was working in television (KEPR I believe)... a true broadcaster... He will be missed. |
