Mark it down. I am now officially and Eve Fuller fan.

I like her show because its an honest presentation of who she is. She reminds me of how Barney Keep related to his audience.

There is no flash. Eve just plays the hits tells us about a 600-grand pot bust in the nearby hills and reminds us to head for Sheridan for Sunday's Pancake Breakfast put on by the volunteer fire department. For whatever the reason, volunteer firefighters are experts at making pancakes.I think my Sunday breakfast plans have been solved!

This is true: I don't think that I have ever heard liner card reading on the airwaves of KLYC. When Stella told the audience this spring that the plastic cover had not yet been removed from the barbecue grill at Casa de Bohnsack, it came from the heart! :-)

And when it's been said here time and time again that Eve gets her news from the Spewgene Register-Guard, it's been from the heart.

So I am not misconstrued, My point was it's not a "here's the 3x5s read one every break" delivery,
where you hear the EXACT same three sentences read the same way you heard an hour and a half earlier.

I thought it was the McMinnville News-Register.

Could be both.

Or it could be any tv/radio outlet from Portland, Eugene or Salem.

It doesn't matter where she gets the news. It matters that she is reading it. It is not slick produced mind-numbing major market radio. There is no pretense that it is, either.

Its darn friendly. Its darn honest. And, above all, its darn entertaining.

Yes it does matter.

If she is getting the news from another news source that the station doesn't have some sort of agreement with to air it's content, then the potential for copyright infringement is there.

So Herb, tell us why you changed your screen name.

i still can't stand 1260. It's soooo phony!
It's just Larry's retirement nest egg.
Why does he fire people so often, and only Eve gets to be live? I don't even get excited when i ocasionally hear a new voice there, i know it will dissapear in two weeks.
The last one didn't make it Turkeyrama, which i don't go to now.

Larry micromanages beyond the nth degree. He looks over your shoulder and expects you to obey his every command blindly and without exception. If you don't, collect your belongings, turn in you ugly station golf shirt and hit the road.

If you work for Larry, the best thing that can ever happen to you, is to leave.

It's a horrible place to work.

Oh, did I mention Stella's worse to deal with than Larry?

Who cares abut the ownership. You can't expect to be treated fairly by others. Each person has a right to say no and leave an employer who is difficult. Expect you won't and you'll be surprised when you are treated well.

One of the savviest things I've ever heard is the phrase: "we all cut our own deals". It applies to work, relationships, you-name-it.

So bitching and complaining about who micromanages what does no good, since we're all driving out own scooters.

Yes, you can expect to be treated fairly by others, but shouldn't be surprised when you aren't.

Listening to Herb a/k/a Radiohead blindly defending the Bohnsucks and the way they run what should be a solid stick, is really pathetic. They treat their employees like dirt and deserve what's flung at them here.

And thanks for today's episode of the Mike Kolb cliche festival. It was most certainly inspirational. Or ridiculous. Either one.

Oh, and backtracking to the first post on this thread:

To compare Eve to Barney Keep is the absolute most ridiculous thing ever said here. That's be like comparing Larry Bohnsack to any of the great radio programmers of our time. It's stupid to make the comparison.
