While their season is done, this sure has been an enjoyable season. Infact this is the best this team has looked and played since the old Clyde Drexler/terry Porter days!
I for one, am already looking forward for next season.

I think their inexperience showed. But hey the only way to get experience is to simply play as many games as possible.

I agree-great year and a promising future.

Yup. Its been a hell of a roller coaster ride from Clyde to Roy. Hopefully never again we go to the pit that was JR Ryder.

Too bad such a great year had to come to such a screeching halt, but all in all, it was exciting to watch 'em play this year. A couple different bounces, a win against Orlando and the Clips and they'd still be going.

The best part is it is a team that is easy to root for. After the dreck that wore the red and black a few years ago, its a relief to finally be able to say the team is headed in the right direction.

Agreed, Nice job Blazers.THis will be a ery interesting of season. Do the blazers make a deal for a quality Veteran??? Is Greg Oden going to be the answer a the 5 spot in the middle?is Travis outlaw a starter at 3 ,Batum or webster? I do not think so the small forward spot is were the team needs the upgrade ,along with Oden working on his footwork ,which is terrible{or Horrrrrrible as Bill Walton would say} More Later stay tuned

I think the most demanding position on the floor is by far the point guard. The whole offense starts there, they handle the ball the most. We are certainly blessed with Brandon Roy in that spot.

I think the 2nd most demanding position is the big man in the middle. They play baseline to baseline, get pounded all the time, if not double and triple teamed. It can simply wear you out. I think many put Oden in a very difficult "pedestal" position for such a young player. That first year-ending injury just slowed down his progress that would have been seen this year.

Some players acclimate to the NBA quicker than others. Sometimes it depends on the player, the position and the type of team they are on.

I'm willing to give Oden his due. Let him develop and find his game. We need to be patient.

I truly believe we do have the right coach for this team.

By the end of the year I began feeling sorry for Oden as he was on the receiving end, all season long, of some pretty ridiculous foul calls. Pretty hard for him to get a rhythm when he gets whistled for stuff like this:

People need to get off Odem's back, plain and simple. He's was a rookie and like any other rookie, he's going to make mistakes. Sometimes, he looked brilliant on the court and fun to watch. He's going to be a great center one day, be patient with him.

All in all, I think the Blazers did really well this year and they did about what I expected. Like Greg, they're all learning. They learned how to play together, how to win and now they have gone to the next step, I congratulate them. This won't be a team that goes out in the first round every year, they'll build on this and go farther next year. It should be fun to watch.

Greg Oden is a rookie. IF he develops into a top-notch center in this league, he will get the benefit of the doubt. Right now, he isn't.

PLEASE, for the love of God Blazers fans, STOP WHINING ABOUT THE OFFICIATING!! I was down there last week, and all I heard was how the Blazers got "screwed" in game four by the refs. Never mind the, what seven turnovers in the fourth quarter alone? Never mind the other errors and miscues that a young team (the second youngest in the league, mind you, and the youngest in the playoffs) made?

I think Brian Wheeler does a fine job of PxP on the radio, my only beef is that he might be the biggest homer alive. Same for Mike Barrett and Mike Rice on TV, and it rubs off on the fans IMHO. Why does everyone have to look for excuses when the fact of the matter is, the Blazers got beat in six games by a much more experienced, and incredibly hungry Houston team? What is the problem admitting as such?
