Mexico Shuts Government; Pandemic Imminent

Mexico's president told citizens on Wednesday to stay home for a five-day partial shutdown of the economy, after the World Health Organization raised its alert level and said a swine flu pandemic was imminent.

I just thought of this;

Before anybody goes off thinking I called the Mexicans pigs, that's not what I meant.

I was making a funny. Swine Flu...Pigs...Get it?

well here's the really funny thing. Most yearly influenza comes from pig farms in central China... so /shrug calling it swine flu is sort of like calling some bureaucracy the Department of Redundancy Deptartment...

Well, isn't flu the past tense of fly?

And you know the expression "When pigs fly".....

I've got friends supposedly going to Mexico for vacation on Saturday. Wonder if they're still going (they weren't planning to cancel voluntarily despite the panic over the flu).

Some evidence that this flu was first seen in California, near the border areas I read today.
