This from All Access [I've added a paragraph in brackets]:

-----------------------Connie Zimit Dead At 67-----------------------

Sometimes sultry, sometimes snappy, sometimes over-the-top Noo Yawk shmoozy, jingle-singer and voice-over artist CONNIE ZIMET promised that COKE was the real thing, that HONDA wants you to be safe and that NORWEGIAN cruises are "as far from the everyday as a ship can take you."'

[In word and song, Zimet pitched thousands of products in her long career, including Apple computers, Fresca soda, Pall Mall cigarettes, Ajax scouring powder, Chevrolets and Godfather's pizzas. She also signed with Colpix, Capitol and Todd record labels.]

THE MIAMI HERALD reports that in the end stages of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis -- ALS, or LOU GEHRIG's disease -- she contracted bronchitis and died at home in PLANTATION, FL on TUESDAY. She was 67.

ZIMET grew up in INDIANAPOLIS and PITTSBURGH, the daughter of a traveling salesman and a one-time dancer. Her only sibling, a brother, drowned in childhood. She began acting in local productions and summer stock theater at the age of 8, then went to NEW YORK at 17.

Always hard to lose such a talent. ALS is a most painful way to die. Unforgiving.

Most of the voice over talents I have met over the years have compelling backgrounds that help formulate their style and abilities. We as voice over artists grab from so many sources to bring a character or narration to life.

Losing Brian James and now Connie in less than a week has made our industry that much poorer, however their talents enriched many.

Heartfelt condolences to her son and close friends.

What a talent! Click on the link that Craig put up and just listen to the great variety and high quality of the work she did. Nest time you have a few extra bucks, make a contribution to the ALS Foundation. We have to stop this horrible disease.

The first voice over guy that I got watch as a young teenager was Gordon Miller. I just loved how he curled up around the mic and made it like it was apart of his own body. The way he would self-direct himself when reading and just his overall mic technique that looked so natural when Gordy was doing what he did so well.

Upon listening to Connie's voice work I sensed that same kind of mic technique and being totally wrapped up in the moment where your delivery, inflection and phrasing just come together and you know it.

I love hearing great talent.
