I meant bonds tied exclusively to this "EXTRA SPENDING", similar to WWII War bonds. When the Auto loans and bank bailout money is repaid, the bonds are RETIRED.

It has been about ten years since I last heard a US Savings Bonds PSA on the radio. "Take stock in America: US Savings Bonds!"

China and Japan have been buying billions of U.S. Treasury bonds. They have been funding the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

We owe, we owe and have nothing to show for it.

Not to burst your bubble Roger, but a check on the latest rates for savings bond shows .7% interest rate for series I bonds, and series EE bonds paying out 1.3% as of today. Or, are we talking about something else?
