It could have something to do with the rumored CHR format flips at CBS stations in NY and LA.

Tom Leykis also lost his WW1 syndication deal (but reportedly has a no-cut contract at KLSX/LA - one of the two stations reported to be flipping) so maybe he could get together with Carolla and shop for a new syndicator as a package deal.

They are going to provide "best of" for the next month.

I have to admit, his show was growing on me. Pretty compelling radio, except for a lot of "g--damns", which I don't think are necessary, but just my opinion. He seems to have a very loyal fan base. Wouldn't be surprised to see him land at another L.A. station before too long. The syndication deal is another story, but would seem likely in today's radio environment.

Adam Carolla's show has a bunch of affiliates in markets of all sizes. I believe that a new syndication deal will be put together.

97.1 KLSX is flipping to CHR "Amp Radio" on Friday.

I wonder what route KUFO will take now. Live and Local or more sydie.

Maybe they'll give Marconi another shot at morning radio?

If they were smart they would bring Bozyk back and put him in the morning, NOT Marconi!
Bozyk was a huge part of that station. Bring him back KUFO!

...do whatever it takes to get someone like Bill Prescott back on the air! :-)

I bet his show would still be a success, even in today's radio/overall climate!

Perhaps they could coax Karen back to do traffic, and call it "The Morning Dispatch" or something!

Prescott - yes!!!! Then maybe I'd finally listen to KUFO again! I haven't listened since they dumped Prescott for Stern! Seriously.

Carolla will have a new syndication deal before long. He's a brand, it's a good show, and it's all about syndication and voicetracking these days. He would be a good fit for a number of stations in this market.

Prescott is a very good idea. Yes indeed better than Boyzk or Marconi combined.

I would imagine that CBS Portland could offer more than a 911 dispatchers salary.

Oh, if I were Bill I wouldn't go near radio again, not in this climate. If he's still got that secure job, I'd probably stick with it. But I would love to hear him on the air again - and I know he reads this board now and then, so just another shout to you, Bill!!! Still miss ya on the air!

Me too!

Speaking of Carolla, what's with his seriously NASAL voice anyway? It's like nails on the chalkboard to me.

Hmm, well I liked the Corolla show. Not so much when Danny was on it but I like Adam himself.

I had a hard time tuning it when he did the segment about home improvment and the gay duo gossip queens was never funny but other then that it was a good show.

I guess there is old reliable Mark and Brian in the morning still

Never really listened to his morning show, but Carolla was hilarious on Loveline.

Everyone responds to different styles. Carolla was spot-on for me. He didn't really say things just for shock value or that he didn't believe. Plus, he just made me laugh. He had some logic I could follow and, in my opinion, was born to be on radio.

I'll miss the routine I've developed in listening to him. I cannot imagine he'll be gone too long though.

I'm a HUGE fan of Carolla. When he was on Loveline: It was one of the few shows that I would listen to, religiously.

His morning show became equally as entertaining. Carolla is a showman and a solid communicator. I've gotta believe he'll be back...sooner versus later.

Leykis is now out locally in LA. He had a very nice goodbye yesterday. His last day is today. He had nothing but good words for CBS, especially praising them for letting him say goodbye on air. It reminded me of the Tim Riley goodbye show.

Apparently Adam will be doing a short podcast beginning Monday morning, available at his website. The show today has been an endless parade of guests phoning in giving brief eulogies to the show...sad, but also peppered with optimism that Adam will re-emerge in the very near future.

Leykis, on the other hand, is done today at 5 (when KLSX flips). Rick Emerson said yesterday that there will be no immediate changes in regards to the Leykis show, which I suppose means they will be playing best-of shows for the time being..?
