They are not playing country anymore....listening to the "teaser" they are playing in a loop it sounds like they are going sports.

In my opinion sports is a good move for 95.3. I wonder if they will simulcast the Ducks on FM?

From All Access.com

ALL ACCESS Congratulations to CUMULUS Rocker KNRQ/EUGENE, OR PD AL SCOTT on his well-deserved promotion to CUMULUS/EUGENE cluster OM. In addition to KNRQ,SCOTT will now oversee Classic Rock KZEL, AC KHEK, Country KUJZ, News/Talk/Sports KSCR-A, and News/Talk KUGN-A.

In addition to these changes KEZL PD MARK RAINEY will add PD of KUGN-A to his responsibilities. There could be more changes coming so stay tuned to ALL ACCESS for updates.

How can there be a station at 95.3 when there is already a station at 95.5 The Game?

This has nothing to do with the material discussion of the topic, but I think it's a bit ironic that we're talking about KNRQ PD Al Scott becoming OM, and overseeing stations including 95.3.
KNRQ was on 95.3 from whenever (1995?) to 2001!

Well they certainly did this flip without much previous fanfare...95.3 is now simulcasting 1320 as of this morning. I was actually listening to 1320 "The Score" at the top of the 6:00AM hour and I hear Jerry Allen's voice come on and give the legal ID "KUJZ FM Creswell-Eugene-Springfield and KSCR AM Eugene-Springfield". I was like WTF and then a couple moments later I thought hmmmm wonder if they flipped 95.3? Sure enough tuned over to 95.3 and heard the ESPN SportsCenter update playing as it was on 1320.

George Schroeder on the locally-produced "Writer's Block" program is already calling the station "95.3 The Score" and saying they are going to phase out their 1320 The Score e-mail address in favor of a 95.3 one so it kinda sounds like 1320 may be flipping to something else soon....

EDIT: Schroeder said that 1320 WILL "eventually be going away"...but didn't give any specifics as to when or what they are going to do with the AM side...

Unfortunatly KSCR-FM is not available. What I did find is: KZNE "The Zone" & KSSR "The Score"

It'll be interesting to see if Al Scott has the ***** to make long needed changes with KZEL, like get the music back on track (oops forgot, he can't do that, all music decisions come out of Atlanta), Maybe he can get rid of the old lame air talent, and bring in some DJs that are more listenable. (Oops, he probably can't do that either, Cumumlus likely won't pay a decent salary, and with their company reputation, who wants to work for them - job security for Mark and Cyd).

I heard today that 1320 will soon be local with some added shows. In the idea stages right now are formats of everything from investing to gardening, medical to home repair ect. With local pros in their respective fields providing the commentary. Also those extra duties for Mark at KUGN AM and for Al are big! It should really put them both to the test. My guess is they really would rather retain the status quo they were used to. So it would seem they have one foot out the door and the other on a banana peel. Next book should tell all?

Before I post anything I at least check my sources and get my facts straight before posting.
If I have made a mistake I will admit it.

My sources (3 and I have more) where I heard the information from all work at Clueless! They also informed me that Dennis Nakata was released from Star 102.3 Most likely on advise by Atlanta reps who visited the station last week who make most of the decisions anyway.
