It seems Lee Rogers is trying to save on "His" Income Taxes. Effective in 2009 Lee is joining in by Satellite from Phoenix, Arizonia.

The program sounded poorer today as there was a lot of overlap as the rest of the morning staff is still in Portland.

Okay it was revised today that Lee Rogers is in Arizona as part of his income reduction package. He will spend October through mid May in Arizona and the rest of the year in Oregon.

I still know it won't work as many stations, including the Zoo in the 90's had DJ's who moved outside of Oregon and tried to do the morning show from other cities and they quickly became out of touch with the local scene which lead to lower ratings and eventually to unemployment.

So I guess KUPL and Lee Rogers feel that they can beat conventional wisdom. I'm going for they won't, and that's to bad.

Lee wanted to move to Arizona for the winter. Its depressing here with very little sunshine. I don't blame him a bit. He has to walk, what 15 feet to his office and the ISDN codec ? That's a good deal...I'm sure CBS would accept a pay cut and I'm sure KUPL didn't want to let go the morning guy...

Let's face it. People who have Radio Jobs are not standing in line to go to work for CBS. With the possible upcoming sales and all. I'm sure just about everyone who works for CBS has been looking for there next gig. IMO.
