What a pleasant surprise to be watching Women's College Basketball on CBS this weekend (1/3) and the half time report with former KOIN Sportscaster Ann Schatz hosting the mid-game report. Congratulations to a hard working Portland broadcaster!

I agree Val. when she was on ch. 6 she was the tops.

Ann used to work out at the 24 Hour Fitness where I work out. She was in great physical shape and would talk to some of the local high school and college age athletes that worked out their too. Always encouraging them and making sure they stay out of trouble.

Kudos to Ann.

I want to add that running ann shhatz and the sports babe. Are the two sportscasters that are so good that I don't view them as top women sportscasters. But top sportscasters who happen to be women. There in a league of there own.

Skep, If I read Steve's comment correctly, I think he means it as a compliment to them.

The topic was "hard working Portland broadcaster". It was Steve's idea to apply a label to Ann and put her primarily in a secondary category, woman broadcaster. Saying that she "exceeds" that classification and can play ball with "top sportcasters" (meaning men) is just sexist. No one classification of gender is better than another.

I'll be open to comments on this though from LIBERALS! What say you?
