Best thing ODOT ever did was build the bypass so you wouldn't have to go through McMinnville on the way to or from the Coast.

Karl Klooster wrote an interesting story about the history of KLYC from the days of KMCM when the newspaper started the station, with a few photos, including a shot of the control room studio after Deane and Mike rebuilt it after taking KCYX over from Norm Aldred. There are few small facts that are not right, but generally a very good job.

Wow, Bob Kuhn, News Director at KMCM. I remember being a nerdly jock that walked into the "news studio" at KMCM and turning off the lights. Then, as a joke, I walked into the news studio with a flashlight to highlight the news copy. Too bad you were reading a news story about some horrible traffic accident in Klamath Falls, when you started laughing histerically about me shining a light on your news copy. Dang, I wonder how I ever progressed to make this a 35 year career?

I don't remember that one...but I don't remember a whole lot about my three months at KMCM. Somehow I managed to stay in McMinnville all of these years, though
