    Hello, Fellow Radio Enthusiasts,

My name is Mike Chase and I, along with my broadcast partner, Amy Faust, would like to invite you to listen in on announcement this afternoon on 99-5 The Wolf. I will be piped in from Raleigh, NC (How do they do it?!!) and Amy will be given a day pass into our old studio there on the scenic banks of the winding Willamette River.

This announcement, though brief in duration, may be the single most important thing you have ever heard. Flags will fly for this day in years to come and whole economies may crumble in the wake of what is announced in this announcement. You will never forget where you were when you heard what you will hear. Today. At 5pm. On 99-5 The Wolf.

    The ground is already shaking.

    Well, welcome back Mike.

Guess you've come to terms with Entercom Portland's "the machine"...

"As one who has just been relieved of duty from a job that I have had for thirteen years, i (sic) can tell you that i (sic) do not take this personally. I think it sucks and I have no idea what I am going to do for a living anymore, but I do not rage against the machine because it is just that: a machine. cold, bloodless and possessed of a cyclon-like (original) crimson eye seeking any last morsel of profit it can appropriate."

I (sic) cannot fault you for hoisting my own words here. I own them. I also own the experience of the last six months where the local folks (who never wanted us gone to begin with, and have had to deal the with the fallout of a decision they didn't make) have rallied in our defense and in the defense of local radio as a positive point of differentiation for radio.

I didn't give up a lucrative job in a great community to come back and take a beating. I did it because I love Portland and I think Amy and I have new challenges and unfinished business.

Think about it: When does a punk kid like me get the chance to have a big old radio company apologize and offer your job back so that he can take what he learned and leverage the experience into a home run? A rare chance, indeed.

To me, corporate is corporate and they have to do what they do. But the "STATION" is the people we see day to day, the clients and, most of all, the listeners. All of whom have been supportive, positive and proactive. They are the station.

I hope that sheds some light on my would be hypocrisy.

Frankly, I never listened to The Wolf because that station/genre isn't my thing, but I'm always happy to hear news like this. Welcome back to the PDX airwaves! Here's wishing that The Second Time Around is even better than the first.

Welcome home. Now that Bob Miller has retired :) I will listen to you daily. I was listening to you on 9/11, and truly, "I will never forget where I was when I heard what I heard." Your voices are forever part of that memory for me. (but I did turn the dial fairly quickly 8O that morning to listen to my standby voice of reason, Bob Miller.)

I can't wait to have you back on my morning radio. Counting the days. :)

So will chase be piped in every morning or will he be live in the wolf studio. And will Dan Clark be coming back to the show?
