It is at least as valid, and more honest.Posted on April 14, 2013 - 04:12 PM #
Driscoll certainly doesn't speak for me.
This article made its way to me this morning from a pastor friend of mine on the whole Matthew Warren saga. Far more honest and certainly more compassionate than Driscoll.Posted on April 14, 2013 - 07:17 PM #
Thank you Chris for posting that link.
I think the most interesting thing in that article that I had not thought about before was that depression and suicide have existed long before there was psychiatric studies. These conditions have been with mankind since creation and our willingness as a society to understand that these deeply personal issues are not "character flaws" or the sign of "individual weakness" but are illnesses like colds and the flu seems to be as advanced as the "Dark Ages."
A recent experience has taught me that we can all speculate to the "nth degree" about the motives behind actions that people take -- it is a little like teaching English to a pig -- it only frustrates you and the pig!Posted on April 14, 2013 - 07:45 PM #
