When did football players become political experts?

Many dabble in politics, Alfredo. Former Washington Redskins tight end Clint Didier is running for Washington state lands commissioner; he also ran for Senate two years ago. He has a large farm down in the Connell area (just northeast about 30 miles from Kennewickman), and affiliates strongly with the Tea Party.

When they agree with your views.

Yep. That's precisely how it works.

LOL, in GRADE SCHOOL, we had this discussion. "Sparkling Personalities" or something like that was what the teacher, Mrs. Cappaso, called it. She had broken them all down into 7 basic types.

She took us through all of them, and we were tasked with finding an instance of all 7 in ordinary life. "find the hook" was the catch phrase. Truth or bull shit kind of thing. Awesome. I still enjoy looking for that hook. The lesson was pay attention or your money and quality of life are at risk. Imagine that! 5th grade people. That's how basic this stuff really is. And I attended 5th grade in a back water, red neck town of maybe 2000 people back then too.

BTW, that was the year we started civics too. Named all the important people from the President down to our local State Rep and a few commissioners. I actually had complained about just learning the names by rote after coming to understand those people were only there for an elected term. What did that woman do? Of course, she explained all of them next week. I caught some shit for that from my peers too. Civics, that boring topic, got extended, LOL!! KSKD asked "another one of those questions."

The thing is, I don't learn by rote very well. Never have. Gotta connect stuff, or it just goes in one ear and right out the other!

(I have good recall of all my school years, and can tell you what we did each one, and who taught it through end of High School. I understand most people don't, so yeah it's weird. I know, but it's a great source of perspective for me today.)

We don't teach that kind of stuff much these days, and the results are predictable.
