    This from All Access:

---------------------------------------Portland Trail Blazers Move To KPOJ---------------------------------------

PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS basketball will move from CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KEX-A/PORTLAND to sister Sports KPOJ-A (FOX SPORTS RADIO 620) for the 2013-14 season.

BRIAN WHEELER and ANTONIO HARVEY will call the action beginning with the preseason game against the LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS at the newly-renamed MODA CENTER (formerly the ROSE GARDEN) on OCTOBER 7th. The team's weekly TRAIL BLAZERS COURTSIDE, hosted by WHEELER, HARVEY, and TV voices MIKE BARRETT and MIKE RICE, will also air on FOX SPORTS RADIO 620.

“We are excited about the opportunity to broadcast our games on a station the offers an all-sports format,” said BLAZERS President & CEO CHRIS MCGOWAN. “This transition also allows us to avoid any preemption throughout the course of the season.”

"We're thrilled to continue our partnership and build 'BLAZER Mania' in PORTLAND,” said CLEAR CHANNEL Market President ROBERT DOVE. ”For all things TRAIL BLAZERS you only need FOX SPORTS RADIO 620."

They'll probably carry KPOJ on 102.3. Too bad they didn't just put the sports programming on KEX and move Rush and his buddies to KPOJ. That would have kept the larger coverage area for the Blazers and perhaps some live sports shows too. Rush and friends are carried on so many stations nationwide that they don't need to be on a big 50kW station.

KPOJ will probably go with 92.7, if it's ready on time. I believe that they actually have more usable signal than KEX, locally.

I won't waste the button on my radio to add 620 or 102.3 just for the blazers. As far as I'm concerned they blew it when they switched from KEX to KPOJ.

..as retired Blazer Bill Walton would probably say:

"..If my ol' team's games had started on FM - they'd STAY on FM!.."
