Horrific is not a strong enough term to describe this.

Hopefully, history will not repeat itself like it did with America's non response to The Holocaust.

It is time to act forcefully to end this abomination.

The President does not need Congress's approval anymore.

He should be calling the leaders of the European countries and asking them "are you going to get involved in helping us stop this or are you going to let them overrun you? You remember Adolph, don't you."

He should also ask the Arab countries the same question.

He should then give the Pentagon orders to take care of the problem and he should go golfing and stay out of it while they do their job.

This is a world problem and the countries of the world should get involved to protect their own asses.

These are the statements that bother me:

"Obama confesses: ‘We don’t have a strategy yet’ for dealing with Islamic State"

All those shiny American-built aircraft parked in Saudi Arabia should be put to good use. But this is such a brilliant idea, it'll never happen.

Deane: He should also ask the Arab countries the same question.

No doubt such conversations have been happening for a long time between those countries and US diplomats. But what if they say, "We don't want to get involved?"

It's their neighborhood; they should be first in line to stop this madness. If they need some help from us, we can provide it.

But I think you'll find the Sunni governments in the region aren't shedding any tears over loss of influence and territory of the Shia-led Iraqi government. Many of them (e.g. Saudi Arabia) are more worried about Iran than about ISIS.

This needs to be dealt with. Soon. We need to do some arm-twisting as well as step in ourselves. :(

This ISIL surge ( which isn't really a surge exactly, these people have been building up to this for years in Syria and NW Iraq )...isn't in Obama's playbook. The War on Terror is over, Bin Laden is dead, The troops in Iraq are coming home, Iraq is stable and an emerging democracy....its hard for him to even officially recognize this latest threat and down right atrocity w.r.t US involvement in any way besides rhetoric. He has ignored or mishandled intelligence, ISIL the JV team indeed !! He said today something akin to " I saw by the NEWS REPORTS that things are a bit more stable in Northern Iraq now etc" ..NEWS REPORTS..who does he think he is kidding...NEWS reports...how bout INTELLIGENCE..he is the friggin' Commander in Chief of the greatest superpower on the planet and is quoting NEWS REPORTS..in a presser...what a DOLT !

Obama lives in a Utopian Bubble for the most part. He has no strategy ..( YET )..He just cant deal with this effectively.

Isn't why he has people in the Pentagon to take care of this stuff just like ALL other Presidents have... Right???

I remember YOUR guy in there with both eyes shut and thumb up his ass while Iraq went sideways. You had you head in the sand and your INTELLIGENCE level was sub par as while Kennman. Obama could have handled this a little bit better but YOUR MORON really F'd things up buddy!

Keep it up! Second guessing anyone until it's over is the GOP's mantra.
