Officials from Muskegon Western Christian Leaders halted a game against Hudson Freedom Christian after a man arrived with a holstered gun:

A man who openly carried a holstered gun at a high school soccer game Thursday led Muskegon Western Michigan Christian leaders to halt the contest against Hudsonville Freedom Christian with 30 minutes remaining.

The man, whose identity was not immediately available, was spotted with the weapon by a Warriors assistant coach, who alerted head coach David Hulings and assistant athletics director Fred VandenBrand.

VandenBrand asked the man to leave, but he refused. Instead, he apparently took the firearm to his car and left it there before returning to the stands. His presence, and the uncertainty if the gun was still being carried, resulted in the game being stopped with 15 minutes into the second half.

James Madison, of course, really didn't want to put the bear arms thing in the bill of rights, but was pressured to by some wacko extremists. Further, the it was initially considered as a precaution to prevent a monarchy from being established in the U.S.

    Fuck that guy.

How are innocent people minding their own business that see someone show up with a gun supposed to react? It's 50/50 whether the gun carrying asshole is there to shoot up the place or show the world how small his penis is.

I can't wait for the day when some jerk like this pulls this kind of crap and someone else shoots him dead because he was standing his ground.

...And the bullet goes right thru the guy and hits some mother too. Bet the NRA supports this guy's "right". Just like they do packing in a pew. Another swaggering zimmernut, a BIG MAN (I always hear punk hoodlum Richard Widmark saying that!) who spends alot of time oiling his gun and watching erectile dysfunction ads on tv. A hard guy who doesn't need no steenkin' trigger lock.

Let's say this guy turned out to be a person carrying for self-defense and a real mass shooter showed up. Instead of just being able to pull out his gun and take care of the situation, he has to go his car to get his gun. What do you tell the families of those shot while he was getting his gun? Or worst, the self-defense guy left after being kicked out and they had to wait 5 minutes for the police to show up provided someone was able to call 911. What do tell the families of basically everyone at that game?

Mass shootings would go down if we lived in a world not scared of guns. We don't hear about stories where guns used for protection saves lives, because that is against what the media wants to convey. We only hear about crazies who want to kill people and since we are a society scared of guns, there is now no one stop them. Keeping guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens won't stop criminals from getting guns and using them for criminal intent.

Joe: Let's say this guy turned out to be a person carrying for self-defense and a real mass shooter showed up.

Let's say the guy tried shooting back at the mass shooter and wound up killing other innocent people. Even the cops often wind up shooting innocent people in a shoot-out with bad guys; who knows what some untrained random guy with a gun might do, even if well-intentioned.

    Hypotheticals are great, aren't they?

So you are saying you rather take the gun out of the hands of the guy who *might* miss while trying to stop the situation? And who said anything about untrained? In order a CCP, you must pass a training course.

Joe, correct me if I'm wrong, but taking a class to obtain your CCP doesn't train you to deal with trying to shoot back at a gunman while innocent people are around, does it? How do you know who to shoot? What if the guy is disarmed by another bystander? What if the CCP holder misses the bad guy and hits others?

Sorry, just taking a class to get your CCP doesn't qualify you to deal with these difficult situations.

If guns are so good at stopping bad guys, I wonder why cops get killed all the time?

I learned in the Army it's easy to shoot at a target. But it's different story when the target is shooting back at you trying to kill you.

I love hearing people say if they were at a shooting with their pistol, they would pull their weapon and shoot them. You better be a good shot. Because if you miss the shooter on the first shot. You just jumped to the head of the list to be shot by the shooter.

Most people I know would piss their pants if bullets started to zip right past them. My best friends carried a pistol for the longest time. He kept saying if he's mugged or attacked, he would have his pistol out in a second and take control. We're down town and a street kid pulled a knife on the both of us asking for our wallets. My friend was crying telling the street kid not to hurt us and take the money. He gets pissed off with me when I keep bring up how he "stood" his ground that night.
