Obama's job approval ratings jumps to 49%, as per your boys at Rasmussen based on 1500 likely voters.

The Gallup poll of adults shows him up to 41%, but that is a rolling average that will take a few more days to get numbers as high as Rasmussen.

    But wait, there's more:

The Democrats have picked up in the Senate projections which for weeks have shown the Republicans ahead 47 to 45 with 8 in play now reads 46 each with 8 in play.

    One more thing . . .

It looks like the tide has turned in the governor projections, with the latest data showing the Democrats picking up one Governorship.

I thought polls didn't mean anything.

Herb set the standard for this particular argument about job approval, Bill, so go suck a lemon.

Senate control is a tossup, has been for some time - the deciding factor is turnout, NOT persuasion. Specifically, will Democratic urban- and youth-voter mobilization efforts be sufficient to counter the Republican one-two punch of older-white-voter mobilization and youth/minority-voter suppression (plus other built-in Republican advantages such as highly gerrymandered districts in some key states and an enormous edge in "dark money"). It's impossible to predict at this point, and I remain skeptical of the Democrats' chances this year. 2016 is quite another matter.
