Willie Nelson was an air personality on "9-10 K-Van" from 1956 to 1958.

    This from All Access:

------------------------------Willie Nelson To Be Presented With Bronze Statue------------------------------

CAPITAL AREA STATUES has announced that they will present a bronze sculpture of Country legend WILLIE NELSON in AUSTIN, TX at 4p (CT) on FRIDAY APRIL 20th.

The eight foot tall, one ton statue was created by PHILADELPHIA’S CLETE SHIELDS and will be placed in the public plaza at the intersection of WILLIE NELSON BOULEVARD and LAVACA. WILLIE is also scheduled to appear at the event.

I think this statue should feature a pipe, being held out, as if to a friend. People can come up, load a bowl, and remember Willie.

Willie Nelson's music is not usually on my box, BUT

"What Was It You Wanted" composed by Dylan, is a must-listen for any fan of either man. It appears on a nineties Dylan tribute with other big names.

Conan O'Brien, on his show last night:

"The statue of Willie was so realistic that he tried to buy weed from it."

    (Drum roll...bing!)
