Everything You've Been Told About Abortion in the "Old, Moral America" is Wrong

Natural Law agrees? Maybe based on your "unskewed" version. But the Natural Law Party disagrees:

THE NATURAL LAW PARTY is committed to substantially reducing the number of abortions in America. However, the Natural Law Party holds that the best way to reduce abortions is through education -- not through legislation.

The Natural Law Party supports proven educational programs to bring individual and national life into harmony with natural law. These programs develop intelligence and creativity, improve moral reasoning, and promote far-sighted thinking and actions that do not create problems. Such education alone can produce the changes in behavior that will reduce unwanted pregnancies. Only the Natural Law Party’s strong educational approach, by changing attitudes and behaviors from the inside out, can offer prevention on a realistic basis.

Our nation’s history shows that it is difficult to legislate morality. Laws forbidding the manufacture and sale of alcohol during Prohibition had little effect on alcohol consumption. Instead, they led to an increase in crime and the most murderous epoch in our nation’s history. Similarly, legislation to outlaw abortions will simply lead to illegal abortions.

For this reason, the Natural Law Party believes that it is counterproductive for the Federal Government to outlaw abortion. Furthermore, the Natural Law Party holds that the moral responsibility for this decision should be left in the hands of those whose lives are affected most -- the mother, the family, and the doctor -- not the Federal Government.

The Natural Law Party’s prevention-oriented approach to reducing the number of abortions will produce a much-needed unifying influence on our nation, which has been deeply torn by this highly divisive issue. Our policy serves the interests of both those who are pro-life and those who are pro-choice by (a) decreasing the number of abortions more effectively than legislation and (b) leaving moral responsibility in the hands of those whose lives are affected most. Only the Natural Law Party can solve the problem of abortion at its basis and thereby fulfill the goals of all Americans -- those who emphasize the sanctity of life and those who uphold the sanctity of individual freedom.

I will let the Natural Law Party speak to natural law before I'll let you do it, Herb.

    Another spanking! Raw even.

And their statement echoes what a lot of us have put here the whole time. Education, empowerment, contraception, and alternatives combined can render this problem minor league compared to what it is today.

Might not even take 10 years.

We been through some of this before:

    Universal Truth
    Absolute Truth
    Biblical Truth

    Biblical Law
    Natural Law
    God's Law

Here in the US we deal with "the law" common to all, and "the facts" common to all.

Which means... in a very ugly way, Zealots add to the problem considerably by refusing to work together to significantly reduce it.

I've always said and thought this comes down to their need for it to be a big problem, or they have nothing to talk about.

Sorry. Hitler called himself a national socialist.
You guys wanna throw in with him?
Saying you're an eggplant doesn't mean much, unless you truly are an eggplant.

'As Natural law wants every human to thrive and strive for eternal happiness cutting a life purposely short goes completely against it.'

    Spanking indeed.

    Liberals, the true 23%:

'The poll also found that 53 percent of those polled said Obama is not honest or trustworthy, marking the first time that the CNN/ORC polling found a clear majority questioning the president's integrity, CNN said.'

    "Brutal...the cost of the scandal..."

Which has nothing to do with the fact that America isn't run on "natural law," and the Natural Law Party of the U. S. of A. is 180 degrees at odds with your claim. How do you rectify the disparity, other than to quote some other internet sage?

Here are some of Herb's militantly anti-abortion friends:

The Ku Klux Klan, who would like to "outlaw this barbaric, satanic practice and punish the sadistic doctors who are guilty of these crimes against humanity."

Hugo Chavez, who handed out years of jail time for both the woman and the doctor when abortions are performed.

Mussolini, who became more anti-abortion as he became more fascist.

I know this little thrashing won't slow down Herb in the least. He's like a Bozo the Clown punching bag...just pops back up, asking to be swatted down again. It's fun to keep hitting, though. :D

Weebles wobble, but they don't fall down!

@Herb: I'm really pleased you have gotten so much out of my 23 percent meme. Appreciated.

Oh, and I sure hope God calls the likes of Dobson home sooner rather than later. Not asking, just hoping that's the plan, you know how it is, right?

"The only thing you care about is control over another's personal decision."

Ahhh, kind of like you wanting to control my decision to own firearms.

Pot meet kettle. Spin that LIEberals.

Actually, most of us just want you accountable for them.

Here's what I don't get. If it's natural law, and for the sake of discussion I'm just using Herb's context, isn't this whole thing between the woman and the world?

    Thought so.

If it's biblical law, isn't the whole thing between her and God?

    Thought so.

The rest is just people who can't mind their own business. We know you really NEED to make other people's choices for them Herb, so YOU feel better about it all.

But the truth is, they really don't give a shit about how you feel about it.

I think people who attempt to speak for God are judgmental, pretentious, and they have really small dicks and feel bad about it all.

My abortion doesn't threaten your life. Your gun threatens my life.

    Another shitty analogy by Skybill.
