A 17-year-old Texas boy was shot dead early Thursday after a dad discovered the teen in his daughter’s bedroom, local media reported.

The homeowner's 16-year-old daughter let the boy into the Harris County house in the early morning hours Thursday, deputies told the NBC station in Houston KPRC.

The father told detectives he heard noises in the room and went to investigate. That’s when he found the 17-year-old in his daughter’s bedroom — and a scuffle ensued, detectives said.

The father fired one shot at the boy, officials said. The 17-year-old died at the scene.

Police were called to the house at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday, KPRC reported.

A gun owner's wet dream turns into a nightmare. I hope he's charged.

I guess I'm a sick SOB then, because it is true that a majority of gun owners secretly dream about the day they get to play hero with their gun.

Why else would you own one?

And your LIEberal, gun hating NBC conveniently left this part out:

"The father walked in and asked questions, but his daughter claimed to not to know the male teen. The father then called 911, but an argument ensued with the teenage boy."

Sorry, this is another example of an overzealous gun owner wanting to "be the hero".

We'll see more facts as time goes by, but what we know right now to be true is that an unarmed kid was shot and killed in a house he was allowed to be in.

Yeah even if the daughter lied and said she didnt know the kid..but DID and DID let him in the house..The Father has an argument under Texas Law , I think he would have been under the assumption the kid was an intruder based on what his horny daughter told him...the kid was kickin' a fuss after a 911 call...and depending on circumstances...well..

If the teen was restrained from leaving and then was shot..Dad is in trouble, even in Texas...if it was something other than that...Dad may have been justified under the law..

Pretty simple really; no gun in the house, no death. Scuffle maybe, but nobody dies.
