Granted, but someone in the tech's family is going to sue for wrongful death. DK if it's going to be the city, Spike TV or the production company, but there's a lawyer somewhere already salivating over this case.

Thirty shots from the cops and none from the suspect. That sounds normal for these times.

It will be interesting to learn more about this and what precipitated such a strong reaction. No details are out other than who is dead and that there are all kinds of bullet holes in Wendy's.

Apparently the Airsoft gun was extremely realistic and emitted a noise like a real gun. Supposedly the robber pointed it at the cops and pulled the trigger twice. They saw the thingy slide back like it was ejecting a cartridge. They thought he was firing at them. The cops began firing back. The robber was apparently a serious player as he reportedly had the gun at the head of an employee when the cops went in.

The robber then tried to flee through the door and got tangled up with the COPS sound guy in the entrance. That's when the sound guy took a bullet. The robber still had his gun and was holding it as if he was going to shoot with it.

Washington (the robber), originally from Kansas City, Kan., had previously served time for four criminal convictions, including drug possession, property damage and two counts of fleeing from police.

This will undoubtedly go down as a good shooting. It certainly gets one more idiot off the street.

"three witnesses confirmed that Washington was holding a handgun and fired twice at Officers Cunningham and Riley."

Even as an innocent bystander was killed? Mark my words, unless there was some kind of compensation package already in place, a lawsuit is inevitable.

I certainly wasn't referring to the innocent bystander getting killed, but rather the robber. It's good to get idiots like this out of circulation.

I agree it was a good shooting. This happened last night and it is interesting how fast the PD was with the release of information. Unlike, Ferguson, where not this much information has been released after 2 1/2 weeks.

Hey, point a gun, real or not, and it's expected you'll be shot by police. A knife, bat, etc, not so fast trigger happy cop.

There are some video frames, I assume from the COPS footage in this TV report. Clearly, the guy appeared to be armed and dangerous.

On the issue of lawsuits, here's a rundown on the Omaha's potential liability risk.
