Just found out that Archer, the production director at KINK, has been fired. Back in November Alpha let production ace Darren Kelly go and told Archer he would have to pick up the slack. He complained and was written up about it. When he recently complained about the workload again they unceremoniously showed him the door. Bean counters and bozos in control of radio, don't just love it?

I've spoken with Archer a number of times, he's always seemed like a very bright, down to earth person. I'm sure he'll be sorely missed by the rest of the staff :( .

Didn't Archer have a syndicated show for awhile? He's kind of far up the food chain!

Archer's job is posted in today's edition of RAMP:

    -------
    • Alpha Broadcasting's legendary Triple A KINK/Portland, OR has a rare opening for a powerful Production Director to replace Archer Dusablon, who recently left. Primary responsibilities include imaging and commercial production for KINK-FM, but you will assist with production for five other additional Alpha stations. Creativity, knowledge of the Triple A format and music and strong cluster experience is required. An ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a large amount of local direct business and NTR programs is critical. To apply for this EOE gig, send a cover letter, resume and work samples to PD Chris Mays at chris@kink.fm or mail your package to KINK, 1211 SW 5th Avenue, 6th Floor, Portland, OR 97204.

Oh My! I didn't see this thread when it was first posted.

Ruby: You're absolutely right. Had the pleasure of working with Archer at K-Hits where he did afternoons, as well as KINK Production. Great Guy and does he know trivia!

Semoochie: You're probably thinking of Archer's "Beatles Basement" program, which we played on K-Hits: http://www.archer2000.net/archer/index.html

When it comes to production, especially creative, memorable imaging, Archer has no equal. He's simply the best, the standard bearer. Given that he has always been hard working, loyal, intelligent, talented and just a sweetheart of a guy, he clearly had no place in Alpha's culture. Best of luck to Archer.
